Summary

Shift - Tuesday to Saturday 5:00 pm to 1:30 am - Our client, located in Richmond, VA, is looking for a Screening Team Lead. In this role, the individual will be responsible for overseeing the Screening Department and ensuring work is performed on an as needed basis in accordance with the SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other regulatory organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist employees to help ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Coordinate work duties and issue work assignments
  • Facilitate solution to system malfunctions
  • Provide input and recommendations to improve daily operations within department or in the laboratory
  • Train new employees on all procedures and old employees on new procedures
  • Assures lab department meets safety requirements
  • Adhere to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information
  • Must comply with company policy

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Preferred

  • At least one year of experience in Screening preferred
  • Ability to manage others
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures
  • Advanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentation
  • Ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies
  • Advanced ability to understand the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds
  • Ability to have full body movement

  • Math and reasoning ability to develop and communicate laboratory procedures and reports
  • Ability to cope with stress due to production obligations
  • Ability to cope with stress of department oversight
  • Ability to understand then communicate laboratory operations and that laboratory’s process flow
  • Ability to make administrative decisions and judgments
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide training
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
  • Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality controls standards
  • Ability to read and comprehend the SOP, Federal (49 CFR Part 40) and CAP-FUDT guidelines
  • Ability to transcribe data in a legible handwriting
  • Ability to communicate with other employees and supervisors
