Center for Breakthrough Medicines is seeking experienced Sr. Buyers to support the Direct / BOM, Indirect and CAPEX categories. Purchasing, one of the three critical pillars (Purchasing, Sourcing and Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management) under the Procurement and Total Cost of Ownership organization, is responsible for the compliant and timely flow of goods to CBM.

You will be key in supporting our patient-centric mission, as you will be the day-to-day interface between CBM and our critical partners.


  • Day to day interface with supplier-partners
  • Primary liaison between Purchasing and other cross-functional teams / stakeholders
  • Tracking of orders and reporting out to stakeholders
  • Periodic request for quotes
  • Conversion of requisitions to orders
  • Support the Executive Supplier Review process with CBM leadership
  • Strong collaboration with Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management teams
  • Participation in QBR process with supplier-partners
  • Support client onboarding activities
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and other optimization initiatives (VMI / EDI)
  • Solve receipt issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders (QA, Warehousing)
  • Support closure of Accounts Payable issues
  • Participate in Gemba walks to ensure cross-functional alignment
  • Assist in data gathering for new supplier set-up within your category


  • Strong sense of patient-centricity / accountability to the patient
  • History of supporting innovation, big or small / challenging the status quo
  • College degree required with 3-5 years of experience
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Cell and Gene Therapy preferred, but cGxP / Pharma required
  • SAP, JDE or other ERP system experience required
  • Experience in MS Office required
  • 5+ years of experience required
