Center for Breakthrough Medicines is seeking an experienced leader to oversee and optimize the management of Direct, Indirect and CAPEX orders. Purchasing, one of the three critical pillars (Purchasing, Sourcing and Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management) under the Procurement and Total Cost of Ownership organization, is responsible for the compliant and timely flow of goods and services to CBM.

You will be key in supporting our patient-centric mission, as you will be the day-to-day interface between CBM and our critical partners.


  • Building out / right-sizing the Purchasing organization
  • Management of the Purchasing pillar for CBM
  • Day to day interface with supplier-partners
  • Primary liaison between Purchasing and other cross-functional teams / stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the Purchasing organization tracks orders and reports out to stakeholders on ETA
  • Periodic request for quotes
  • Ensuring timely conversion of requisitions to orders via KPIs
  • Support the Executive Supplier Review process with CBM leadership
  • Strong collaboration with Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management teams
  • Participation in QBR process with supplier-partners
  • Support client onboarding activities
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and other optimization initiatives (VMI / EDI)
  • Monitor successful closure of AP issues, both proactively and reactively
  • Participate in Gemba walks to ensure cross-functional alignment

Education & Experience

  • Strong sense of patient-centricity / accountability to the patient
  • History of supporting innovation, big or small / challenging the status quo
  • BA / BS and at least 7 years of experience required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • ISM, APICS or other certifications preferred
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Cell and Gene Therapy preferred, but cGxP / Pharma required
  • SAP, JDE or other ERP system experience required
  • Experience in MS Office required
