Summary

Reporting to the SVP of Sales, the Director of Government Sales works cross functionally with the Senior Director of Government Relations.

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Government Sales executes and manages entire sales cycle and detailed account strategy working cross-functionally with Government Relations and Corporate strategy teams to deliver GENETWORx products and services to Federal and State government agencies
  • Develops and implements strategies to expand the market position for Federal Government Accounts and State government opportunities
  • Builds & maintains positive relationships with senior executives, key decision makers and influencers and technical experts within designated accounts
  • Successfully positions new solutions and products for expanding business with funnel forecast and revenue growth accuracy
  • Fully utilizes all sales force automation, funnel management and prospecting tools. Manages sales funnel and generate reporting on sales activities and forecasting
  • Ensures all internal departments have fulfilled responsibilities to bring new customers onboard

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience in laboratory/life sciences preferred
  • 7-10 years' experience in direct sales, with 5 years' experience selling in a Business to Government (B2G) role
  • Existing relationships with Federal and State Agencies a plus. Agencies of focus include Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs and Health and Human Services.
  • Business Planning -- demonstration of candidate's ability to account plan, target and ability to execute sales within those accounts
  • Product Knowledge -- ability to quickly learn and provide subject matter expertise around GENETWORx products and present solutions in a confident and persuasive manner in a B2G setting
  • Sales Growth -- demonstrated track record of ability to grow existing accounts and seek new opportunity to develop additional business
  • In depth understanding of both Federal and State level government contracting including all RFP processes, General Services Administration (GSA) and other relevant Multiple Award Schedules, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other laws around government procurement
