We are currently in need of an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist at our location in Clayton DE. Looking for energetic and detail-oriented individual to join our team. We currently have openings on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.Summary of Essential Job FunctionsBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).Perform duties such as.Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.Ability to work with minimal amount of supervision.Each day, inspects and records sanitation conditions prior to and during plant operations and reports same to HFC Production Supervisor, and Quality Control Manager, when necessary.Checks continuously for any problems that may occur during frozen food, fresh food processing in order to control quality of product, and records appropriate data.Samples and grades finished HFC product to determine quality, assign grades, control weight of packaged items and record required data.Sample and perform analytical and organoleptic evaluations on in-process and perform finished product packaging checks for fill weight, seal integrity and code date and record all required data to assure compliance with Hanover specifications.Notify appropriate Production Supervisor of out-of-grade or borderline product and assist in corrective action situation to get product back into compliance with the respective HFC company specification, and, it general, maintain a good working relationship with the Production Supervisor and other management personnel.Work in close association with USDA Inspectors and customer representatives as required.Work in close cooperation with HFC Production and Warehousing personnel to assure proper quality grades.Stays abreast of current quality factors and procedures required by customers, U.S. Grade Standards, HFC Company specifications.Obtains, determines quality, packages and initiates action for shipments of special product samples to customers; or out-of-grade product to Hanover for further information.Takes necessary action required to maintain good housekeeping and general appearance of laboratory.Performs any other assignments as required by Quality Control Manager.Adhere to common safety practices and rules; including wearing protective equipment and clothing as required.Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety requirements to ensure high product integrity.Minimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentValid Driver’s LicenseBasic math skillsBasic computer skillsGood communication skillsStable work experiencePrevious experience working as a machine operatorExperience using micrometer and other measuring toolsHas worked on multiple machines using miters and double mitersComfortable lifting 50 lbsReliable transportation
