CBM is located just outside of Philadelphia in the Heart of Cellicon Valley on The Discovery Labs campus set on 300 acres with 2.4 million square feet of life sciences lab and manufacturing space, allowing clients to scale their development and manufacturing needs without ever having to change sites, while providing employees a true community campus experience focused exclusively on life sciences.

Summary

We are seeking a strategic communications leader to enhance CBM’s brand and reputation with internal and external stakeholders. As our Director, Public Relations & Corporate Communication, you will use your passion for media, trends, and storytelling to cultivate strong relationships with top-tier cell and gene therapy media, give direction to PR and media agencies, and build our corporate communications strategy. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the pharma, biopharma industries and key skills such as proficiency at analyzing data, identifying trends, making media strategy recommendations that help promote the corporate narrative and help build a positive reputation for CBM through its lifecycle. Responsibilities

·      Helps define public relations and internal communications strategies for the organization that achieve business objectives and convey the unique value of the company, its science, and its products

·      Builds and enhances relationships with external media outlets, including news, business, and industry trade publications, with both traditional and digital media; garner local, regional, and national coverage of the company to meet objectives

·      Actively manages and directs external agency partners; coordinates with the company’s collaborative corporate partners

·      Defines and manages the strategy, planning, and implementation of a robust social media presence

·      Supports the development of all corporate communications materials, including press releases, Q&As, website content, executive talking points, fact sheets, social media materials etc., in collaboration with external agency colleagues, corporate partners, and internal colleagues in investor relations, government affairs & policy, legal, business development departments, and other parts of the organization

·      Prepares company spokespeople for media interviews and other engagements, including training spokespeople, as needed, and ensuring that the company’s most frequent spokespeople are prepared to address key issues as they emerge

·      Identifies external opportunities, including media interviews, speaking engagements at industry conferences, and other forums to showcase company thought leadership

·      Works collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to ensure alignment and visibility of communications initiatives across functions

·      Owns responsibility for creating and keeping up-to-date critical corporate messaging vehicles, including the company website, investor relations decks, and company activities on social media

·      Creates high quality, persuasive, and strategic presentations for an audience that includes pharma partners, senior management, and board of directors

·      Proactively and reactively manages corporate reputation and risk in traditional and social media, where appropriate

·      Provides strategic counsel to senior executives on matters related to corporate communications

·      Leads the coordination of communications efforts within the company; is the strategic hub for well-coordinated and organized communications across multiple internal groups; works collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to ensure alignment and visibility of communications initiatives across functions

·      Manages external agencies and vendors


Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, life sciences, or related field

·      5-10 years of communications and public relations experience in a biopharma, or biopharma services (CMO, CDMO) or at a public relations firm working with biopharma or biopharma services clients, cell and gene therapy experience a plus

·      Strong understanding of scientific concepts and ability to translate technical language into laymen’s terms

·      Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and overseeing critical communication projects involving digital and personal communications

·      Demonstrated experience crafting and executing successful traditional media, social media, and internal communications strategies

·      Experience working with high performing teams and demonstrated ability to collaborate, facilitate, influence, and organize across multiple groups and levels of an organization

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail

·      Unquestionable ethics and integrity
