Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll be a part of our inspiring mission of helping people jump start their journey into recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. Your expertise will aid in patient recovery, as you support and implement effective techniques that will impact the lives of our patients suffering from the disease of addiction and their families. You will perform total patient care, work with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist with treatment plans.  As a RN, you will administer prescribed medications and maintain patients’ medical records on nursing observations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history
  • Plan and provide nursing care for patients
  • Make nursing diagnosis of the medical status of patients and recommends treatment options
  • Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients
  • Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
  • Assist the client in understanding the nature of the disease of addiction and the need for treatment.
  • Document all patient information on medical charts and follows physician’s written orders
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills
  • Nursing professionals must be able to work in collaboration with other health professionals and leaders from other disciplines.

Work Environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or the equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Updated/active state Registered Nursing license required
  • At least 2 years of experience in behavioral healthcare/addiction OR 5 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology
