CBM is located just outside of Philadelphia in the Heart of Cellicon Valley on The Discovery Labs campus set on 300 acres with 2.4 million square feet of life sciences lab and manufacturing space, allowing clients to scale their development and manufacturing needs without ever having to change sites, while providing employees a true community campus experience focused exclusively on life sciences.

Summary

Center for Breakthrough Medicines is seeking a Buyer to provide expertise in acquiring a broad range of goods and services for both Direct and Indirect categories. Purchasing, one of the three critical pillars (Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, Purchasing and Supplier Relationship Management) under the Procurement and Total Cost of Ownership organization, is responsible for the compliant and timely flow of goods and services to CBM.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of order queues
  • Liaison between Purchasing and other cross-functional teams / stakeholders
  • Support site start-up activities
  • Support client onboarding activities
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and other optimization initiatives
  • Solve receipt issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders (QA, Finance, Warehousing)
  • Participate in Gemba walks to ensure cross-functional alignment

Qualifications

  • Strong sense of patient-centricity / accountability to the patient
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Buying required
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Having worked in a cGxP area is highly preferred
  • High School Degree is required / College degree preferred
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • Strong desire to learn more about Cell and Gene Therapy and cGxP / Pharma
  • SAP, JDE or other ERP system experience required
  • Experience in MS Office required
