The Vice President of Business Development will lead a team of sales, marketing and business development support staff to build contract manufacturing relationships between The Center for Breakthrough Medicines and developers of advanced therapy medicinal products. The Vice President Business Development will have primary responsibility to meet targeted sales objectives and to nurture relationships which will ensure attainment of long-term growth objectives. The Vice President Business Development will also be the primary source of guidance for Senior Management of industry demand and new opportunities for complex manufacturing services for biologics such as cell and gene therapies.
Serve as the primary Client-facing representative.
Work across multiple segments to drive shared business objectives and identify new service opportunities. Communicate objectives to all stakeholders to ensure objective achievement.
Work collaboratively with Field Sales and Marketing teams to maximize effectiveness, align with shared sales objectives, and identification new revenue opportunities.
Lead and manage the Business Development organization in the achievement of established goals, KPIs, and SLAs while operating in the established budgetary and business guidelines.
Develop team members. Provide training and coaching to team to foster performance excellence.
Serve on cross-functional leadership teams, providing guidance on market activities, market conditions, and overall strategy relating to the activities of Business Development.
Effectively monitor day-to-day management of accounts in your assigned territory and build relationships with key marketing, merchandising, and media decision makers
5+ years of experience with a proven track record in sales leadership role(s) managing profitability, business analysis, and strategy development in the Biopharmaceutical industries
5+ years of experience selling biotechnology-related services to the pharmaceutical, biotech and advanced therapies industries
Proven track record of managing a complex consultative sales process including lead generation, client presentations, and contract negotiation with decision markers across levels of seniority
Interest in working at a fast-paced startup type company, and the ability to scale with the organization as it grows, and its needs & product portfolio change over time
Broad understanding of market & product dynamics in the biopharmaceutical markets required
Experience in and demonstrated understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and the development process for clinical and commercial biological products
Strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable recommendations
