Quality Control Analyst

This position provides support in our Conshohocken facility by providing quality assurance and control. The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for all material shipped out of the Chemalloy Plant. The Analyst will certify all material issued by Chemalloy to either the customer specification or Chemalloy’s standard specification. When material is found to not meet with the specification, it is the responsibility of the analyst to get to the root cause of the issue. The analyst coordinates with the production and shipping departments regularly with regard to future orders being shipped. Analyst will be cross-trained in all Quality Roles acting as a back-up when needed.


  • Using excel shipping log, add orders from the customer order log.
  • Collect travelers from different warehouses that contain the information for completed orders.
  • Using those travelers input data into the shipping log.
  • Using the shipping log, print out worksheets for customers’ orders.
  • Ensure that all chemical properties have been properly satisfied. If there is an issue with any of these properties, notify the Quality and Plant Managers to come up with a resolution.
  • If there is no issue, look up the lot number and size of the product in the Access database.
  • Use the tools in the database (Physical Pallet Selection/Average Form) to come up with a composite number for the sieve analysis testing, density and flow.
  • Using the tools in the database also assure that all pallets meet the customer specification by inputting the code number required into the top of the form.
  • After all results are verified as being in specification, proceed to the process of generating the certificate of analysis.
  • If there is an issue with sizing report discrepancy to the Quality and Plant Managers. Act as a liaison between the Quality, Production and Warehouse Staff to pick a product suitable for the customer.
  • Using the word template in conjunction with excel shipping log, populate all the fields necessary to complete the COA.
  • Once COA is completed, initial shipping log line containing the order. This will highlight the line yellow and let other users know the order is complete.
  • In the case we have material but it doesn’t meet the customer specification, the Quality Control Analyst will prepare a deviation for that customer. The deviation will be signed by the Quality and Plant Managers before being forwarded to the Sales Coordination Team for customer approval.
  • Once approved, Analyst will file the deviation and ensure its’ recording in the database.
  • Quality Analyst will act as the Quality Liaison in the event the Quality Manager is unavailable.
  • In the event Quality Manager is unavailable, Analyst will work closely with Plant and Production Managers on issues concerning Quality.


  • High School Degree (Required); some College (Preferred). 
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Access and Word.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach methodologies. 
  • Experience working in a Lab setting. 
  • Experience with ISO:9001 or another quality management system.
